Delaunay Criterion Violations

Unit: [-]

A triangular finite element violates the Delaunay criterion if the circumcircle of the triangle includes a node not belonging to the finite element. Delaunay-compliant triangulations maximize the minimum angle of all the triangles in the mesh, elements with large angles that are potentially leading to instabilities are avoided.
Elements violating the criterion get a value of 1 in this parameter, triangles being consistent with the criterion have a value of 0. In the default color scheme and legend setting, triangles with a violation of the criterion are shown in red.
