Tool Properties
The Tool Properties page within the Global Settings dialog serves for editing basic settings for some of the FEFLOW editing tools. Settings are preserved for the FEFLOW installation, i.e., they are not specific to the current FEFLOW model.
Visualization
Option | Description |
---|---|
Inner-edge high-lighting |
Enables highlighting of inner edges by means of top and bottom nodes connected to vertical edges |
Inner-face high-lighting |
Enables highlighting of faces by means of all edges connected to vertical faces |
Measure
The settings here refer to the graphical and precision properties for the Measure tool in the Mesh Editor and Inspection toolbars.
Option |
Description |
---|---|
Decimal Places |
Number of decimal places for number display in the view |
Line Color |
Line color for the measure lines |
Text Color |
Color of the text display |
Areal Color |
Color of the measure areas |
Linear 1D Interpolation
These settings are applied to the interactive 1D interpolation by means of the corresponding tool in the Editor toolbar. For the 1D linear interpolation based on map data, similar settings are done in the Parameter Association dialog.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Incorporate existing data |
When turned on, FEFLOW also incorporates previously set boundary conditions of the current type into the interpolation. Otherwise existing boundary conditions on the target nodes are deleted. |
Temporal Interpolation |
In case of interpolating between time series (time-varying link type) FEFLOW can interpolate values at the time stages of the time series, or it can also interpolate between the time stages, e.g., to consider the translation of a flood wave between two locations along a river. |
Extrapolation Method |
Without extrapolation, FEFLOW will use the last input value at a line for all nodes until reaching the line end. Extrapolation can be done in both line directions, or only upwards or only downwards. The definition of upwards and downwards depends on the line direction in the line map used (order of line nodes). |
Logarithmic |
Interpolate logarithmic values rather than original input |
View Properties
Option | Description |
---|---|
Disable Shader Rendering |
Disable shader to render icons and labels. |
Enable Label-Distance |
Display labels between a minimum and maximum distance around the current position. |
Min. Label Distance |
Minimum distance for labels defines the radius around the current position where labels are not shown. Labels will be shown only between the minimum and maximum label distance. |
Max. Label Distance |
Maximum distance for labels defines the radius around the current position where labels are shown. Labels will be shown only between the minimum and maximum label distance. |
Index Base |
Enable and disable label support for node-numbers and element numbers. Node and element numbers can be shownn as 0-based (start counting from node/element 0 to n-1 nodes/elements) or 1-based (start counting from node/element 1 to n nodes/elements). The labels can be activated/deactivated in the View Components Panel for the active view. |
3D Label Element Center |
3D labels can be shown in the 3D View either at the centers of the elements or at the centers of the faces. In the latter case, the labels are shown at all faces of the elements. |
Immersive View Settings
Option | Description |
---|---|
Enable Oculus VR | Enable support for Oculus Rift VR-glasses |
Stabilize VR | FEFLOW tracks the head position of the user. Minimal movements of the users head may trigger an unwanted movement (noise) of the view. If stabilizing is activated, FEFLOW will reduce this noise by keeping a stationary view. |
Pixel Density VR | The pixel density increases the resulution of the view. The applied value will be used to multiply the current resolution. A high value may slow down the rendering process. |
Movement Speed | The movement speed dictates the speed of any motion sequence. This setting is similar to the pointer speed of the mouse of the Operating System. The applied value will be used as a multiplier to increase the speed of the motion increase. |
Right Speed Factor | The right speed factor increases the speed for motion and rotation. |
Left Speed Factor | The left speed factor increases the speed for rotation only. |
Rotation Speed | Define relative rotation speed. |
Rotation Speed Factor | Define the rotation speed factor while right trigger button on the Xbox-controller is pressed. |
VR Enable Label Dist | Display labels between a minimum and maximum distance around the current position. |
VR Min. Label Dist | Minimum distance for labels defines the radius around the current position where labels are not shown. Labels will be shown only between the minimum and maximum label distance. |
VR Max. Label Dist | Maximum distance for labels defines the radius around the current position where labels are shown. Labels will be shown only between the minimum and maximum label distance. |
Maps
This section deals with handling of exported maps.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Add exported Maps |
When turned on, FEFLOW will add exported maps to the Maps panel automatically. |
Scene Library
Settings in this section influence the behaviour and appearance of the Scene Library.
Option |
Description |
---|---|
Force Scene Comment |
When turned on, FEFLOW requires a comment for each saved scene. |
Icon Size |
Size of the icons used for preview in the scene library |
Maximum Preview Size |
Maximum size of the preview shown when moving the mouse over the icon of a scene |
Scripting
Option | Description |
---|---|
Enable Scripting |
Activate the Scripting menu in the FEFLOW graphical interface. This menu enables the FEFLOW Python scripting interface, which provides access to the Edit script and Execute Python Command dialogs. Four different options are available:
|
Well Manager
Option | Description |
---|---|
Nearest Node Distance |
Defines a search radius for FEFLOW to find the nearest node to assign a well. |
Import Behaviour |
Defines the behaviour of the Well Manager when importing a wells from a file. Three options are available:
|
